All three of us (3 middle-aged adults) found Bucky's place to be exactly what the doctor ordered during our early June vacation. We liked the house and its appointments quite a lot. There was a slight problem with the plumbing on our first day, but it was quickly fixed. Bucky was extremely helpful and so was his on-island handyman. Everything worked and the description of the house was as advertised. The house is close to the beach. Although there is no direct access to the Gulf through the "backyard," the walking distance to the beach is still probably under 250 yards--certainly no need for one of the ubiquitous golf carts you see everywhere. An excellent, private, outdoor shower, we used every day. We did not grill out, but the grill seemed to be in good working order. We did cook in the kitchen, which has everything. The freezer portion of the refrigerator makes ice quickly. Interior temperature was nicely cool during a hot week, though the AC seemed to cut off of its own volition during the early morning hours. No real problem. The ceiling fans kept everything comfortable. We have rented a number of houses over the years (west coast, east coast, south coast) and this one ranks high on our list. We would definitely come back. Recommended.

Another year in the books at St. George Island and another year in the books at Buckey's Hauser. Great place to stay and the owner is extremely nice and makes sure you are relaxed on your vacation. Great location on the island, short walk and you're at the water.

I surprised my husband with a trip to St. George Island for his 40th birthday. This was the first time either of us visited SGI so was going to be a new experience for both of us. We had a wonderful, relaxing vacation and loved every minute of it. The property worked extremely well as we had our dogs with us. The dogs quickly adjusted to the new surroundings and absolutely loved going to the beach each day. The house has an outdoor shower and water hose so made bath time for the dogs a breeze. The house was kind of in a "tucked-in" area with trees and provided a some exclusion from the road. We were a close walk to the beach - no complaints at all! The property was clean and well-maintained and everything we basically needed was there at the house. Before we left for SGI, I read other reviews so came prepared with grocery, household and toiletry items. I didn't experience an issue with the clothes dryer as some other renters expressed. The washer and dryer worked perfectly for us. There is a Piggly Wiggly Express, so if you do forget something, you should be able to find it all the grocery store. Wi-fi was a must for me and the wireless internet did not disappoint - had no issues connecting. Probably my only nuisance was the size of the master bedroom bed. We have a king-size bed and I thought the queen would be okay. When you are used to a king, a queen-size feels really tight and we had a few restless nights getting used to the less-width bed. Overall, we were very pleased with Bucky's property and I cannot say enough good things about our stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay and highly recommend this area/house to any prospective renters.

We hope to stay here again. We enjoyed the house and loved the short walk to the beach.

Definitely will consider staying here in future

My husband and another couple spent a wonderful week enjoying the covered deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. House was clean, comfortable and attractive. Would have loved using the outdoor shower, but sadly, the weather did not permit. My 15 yr old Westie really enjoyed going to the beach and running in the waves. Just a short walk around the corner and you are on the beach. Loved going to the nearby restaurants and museum areas and especially the wild, natural state park. Would certainly recommend this cottage to anyone.

This house is close to the beach, in a very quiet part of the island. We stayed a week and enjoyed the comfort and amenties of the house. There were just two of us so the house was plenty large to spread out. The beaches, state park, and bike trail are big assets to St George Island, as are the many restaurants. Across the causway there are more islands, small towns, history, and more seafood to sample. The house made a perfect spot to explore St George and surrounding communities. There is a large, well equipped kitchen and a large deck on the back of the house facing the water. The house was very clean and well kept. Our thanks to the owner

Our visit at St George Island was wonderful. The house was convenient, clean, and cozy! Nice back porch and comfortable chairs. It was a pleasure to interact with the owner who called to check on our satisfaction with the house soon after our arrival.

This was a great place to stay! The owner was warm, friendly, helpful and accommodating. The house was bright, cheerful, comfortable, and clean. It was simply and tastefully decorated. There was adequate parking under the house for 2 vehicles. With 2 BR and 2 full baths, it's an ideal set up for 2 couples or a small family. I like to bring some of my favorite essential cookware and found everything else we needed in the kitchen. The partially covered deck was our favorite place to relax especially if it was a bit windy for the beach. The chaise lounges were very comfortable. We had a good view of the Gulf which was just a short walk from the house. My husband was thrilled to find Killing Patton on the bookshelf and spent quiet hours absorbed in the life of this colorful WWII hero. I read Marley and Me, a light-hearted story perfect for beach reading. Knowing there was a washer and dryer provided, we were able to pack lighter suitcases for our 2 week stay. We were blessed with beautiful weather. We enjoyed the beachand sharing time and meals with friends. We recommend Taco Tuesday at Harry A's on St. George Island and the lunch specials at El Jalisco in Eastpoint. And we highly recommend this beach house! We look forward to returning to our favorite Florida beach again next winter.

We just returned from a week at Bucky's Beachhaus. Everything we needed was provided. It was just a short walk to the beach. Our dachshunds loved sunning on the deck. Can't wait to go back.

Bucky's Beachaus is definately an oasis. The house was great. Very well equipped and furnished. Love the front deck with the loungers and table. It is a quick walk to the beach. We took our buggies with coolers and chairs everyday. Love the outside shower. We used the grill almost everyday and fed the resident sand crab! The kitchen has everything you would ever need. We are cooks and was very well equipped. Thank you for letting us enjoy your place. We will definately be back.

We love Bucky's Beachhaus. This is second time staying there with our two young boys. The house is the perfect size, is well stocked, and is a very quick walk to the beach. We definitely plan to return!

Very clean, family & pet friendly safe neighborhood and beach! I let my teens bike ride and walk to the beach alone-a first for us! The people are friendly and helpful. The house is beautiful and comfortable-the outside balcony and shower were great! Large selection of board games and books! The State Park was breathtaking, we have never experienced such a clean remote natural beach!

I would definately recommend a family trip here!

House is located very conveniently on the island. This house has very comfortable furniture. Just like you were at home. Outdoor shower a big plus for getting sand off. The house and amenities were all we needed. The deck was an added dimension that we used more than expected. For example, when it was too windy on the beach, we could stay on the deck and enjoy the sun. Regardless of the weather conditions, we probably ate dinner on the deck most of the week.

The owner was helpful and informative about local places of interest. We will check with him again about the availability of his property when we consider SGI for our holiday.

This time of the year we found the fishing on the beach not as eventful. BUT the piers on both the Eastpoint side and St George side produced limits of trout each and every day, Sheepshead, Flounder and as well nice slot Reds. Your fish cleaning table got a work out. We appreciate all of the support you gave us leading up to our stay and being very communicative with us. That was refreshing. As I mentioned we look forward to our next stay. We were very comfortable and happy with our stay at Bucky's Place on St. George Island. He is a gracious host and we loved the island. The only reason we're not giving it five stars in all categories is that there were a few minor things we missed, including an indoor dining table. My husband is not comfortable on high bar stools. Also, could use a tea kettle and some good knives.

I was only able to stay one week but Bucky's Beach Haus was perfect. Great location, quiet, and easy access to the beach. Dr. "Bucky" W. (owner) and Nikki Y. (housekeeping and maintenance) were very helpful and accommodating. Greatly appreciate that the house was dog friendly. I hope to stay here on my next visit. Thank you!

Was a great stay at Bucky's Beachaus!! Every thing was as described. There were no promises on the weather, but our stay was fantastic. The weather agreed the entire week. The beach was clean, the stars fantastic. Would love to return in the future when time permits.

My family was so happy to stay in our vacation in David"s property! Quiet, clean and very convenience location! Close to the beach and balcony terrace in the big plus too!!Our furry family members was also were very pleased with the time spent on the beach!
