Built in 1912, the Dixie Theatre became the entertainment center of the county. Eventually operated as a motion picture theater, the Dixie closed in 1967. Recently renovated, the Dixie is again hosting live theatre. Professional Season runs January – March.
Cat Pointe Music is a multi-faceted fine arts venue and listening room. Located in Eastpoint at 29 Island Drive (in the Point Mall), Cat Pointe Music features live music concerts (various genres), live theatre & poetry as well as musical instruction, instruments & supplies.
Nature, wildlife and sporting art in a simple rustic setting under the shade of a live oak tree. Open Wednesdays – Saturdays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. The gallery also hosts occasional guest artist shows and special events. Artwork by award-winning local favorite, Susan Richardson, can be found here. Located on Market Street next to the bike shop at the corner of Avenue G. Look for the oyster boat out front!
